The Action for Healthy Kids website has information to address the epidemic of overweight, undernourished and sedentary youth by focusing on changes at school.
CDC's Healthy Youth website has a section devoted to coordinated school health, health topics, evaluation, the new Physical Education Curriculum Analysis Tool (PECAT) and funding resources.
Developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the School
Health Index is widely used by CSH teams to assess strengths and weaknesses
in the eight CSH components. Now available on-line, the assessment is
even
easier to use! This site also provides a template for CSH teams to share their
success stories.
Colorado Connections for Healthy Schools
Sponsored by the Colorado Department of Education, this site provides information about funded CSH districts, upcoming trainings and resources.
Healthy Schools for Healthy Kids
The Healthy Schools for Healthy Kids website is sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Newly upgraded, it offers an expansive collection of school health resources, including articles, Power Point presentations and links to newsletters.
Developed by the South Dakota Department of Education, Minds in Motion is a set of activities that integrates physical activity into math, science, reading and social studies. Activities are included for both elementary and middle school.
