RMC is a recognized national leader in designing, implementing and evaluating exemplary professional development events. Since 1985, RMC staff and consultant trainers have provided professional development for over 30,000 people from 43 states and 5 U.S. territories. Annually, RMC conducts approximately 50 professional development events for an average of 1,500 participants.
Currently, RMC provides training on standards and assessment in health education as well as on 17 different health education curricula. Nine RMC staff and a cadre of 20 trainers are actively involved in providing training on an ongoing basis.
In addition, RMC has created two curricula – Healthy Sexuality and
Power Moves – and provides training on both of them.
- Healthy Sexuality is an abstinence-based curriculum for middle school.
- Power Moves is an HIV/STD prevention curriculum for high-risk youth in out-of-home placement.
RMC also provides training on the following researched-based tobacco prevention curricula: Life Skills Training, Choosing Not to Use, Project Towards No Tobacco, and Get Real About Tobacco.
