A Situational Approach to HIV Prevention for High Risk Youth

Training Audience: Staff of community organizations, youth centers, social service or correctional facilities and others serving adolescents

Teaching Strategies: Varied, including cooperative learning, small-group, brainstorming, role-playing, whole-group processing, etc.

The primary goal of POWER Moves is to decrease the percentage of youth currently engaging in sexual and drug use behaviors that place them at risk for HIV infection. Lessons are designed to appeal to a variety of learning styles and involve participants in program activities that foster pro-social skill development.
