Healthy Schools Colorado Grantees Announced

The Rocky Mountain Center and our partners, the Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, would like to congratulate our Healthy Schools Colorado grantees:

  • Adams County Region (District 14 and 50)
  • Douglas County School District
  • Jefferson County School District
  • Pikes Peak Region
  • Poudre School District

Thanks to funding from the Colorado Health Foundation, these five district/region awardees will address childhood obesity through the implementation of the Coordinated School Health (CSH) Model.

The CSH Model provides a framework to organize school health efforts around eight health-related components. The districts/regions will be required to work with at least 10–15 schools during the first year of the grant. Each subsequent year of the grant, districts/regions will work with additional schools to implement the CSH model. By the end of three years, approximately 200 schools will have implemented the model using “Colorado’s Roadmap to Healthy Schools”.
