Margie Thirlby Interim Managing Director

As Interim Managing Director, Margie works with the RMC board and staff to help manage day-to-day operations, support the staff, and advise the board with the CEO search.

Margie is the owner of the Thirlby Company LLC, a coaching and consulting business that helps leaders and organizations experience joy and achieve transformative personal and professional growth. With 12 years of executive leadership experience, Margie has a unique perspective of having worked with hundreds of nonprofits, corporations, and community organizations throughout her career.

Prior to opening her own business, Margie served as the executive director of Reading Partners Colorado, working to deliver one-on-one literacy instruction to over 3,300 low-income students in the Denver metro area. Prior to moving to Denver, Margie served for seven years as the executive director for Rebuilding Together (Seattle), a national low-income housing organization. Margie also held national leadership roles for both Reading Partners and Rebuilding Together.

In Denver, Margie is a volunteer board member for Rebuilding Together Metro Denver, an appointed member of the Tony Grampsas Youth Services Board (CDHS), a recent graduate of Leadership Denver, and a volunteer at Reading Partners. Margie graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Olaf College (Northfield, MN) as an English Major and Media Studies Minor, and received her Nonprofit Management certification from the University of Washington (Seattle). Margie is a professional life coach trained by iPEC, a top-ranked program accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Outside of work, Margie enjoys hiking with her dog, Lucy, visiting the Denver Botanic Gardens, cooking, reading, and watching sports.
