Marisa Faye is the Healthy Schools Program Manager. Marisa provides leadership, coordination, planning and support to district and school initiatives. In her role, she facilitates the Professional Development Team, collaborates with partner organizations to bring shared vision to life, and plays a key role in bringing together statewide stakeholders, in-person and through virtual platforms, for ongoing education and support
Prior to joining RMC Health, Marisa was part of the founding staff of ECHO Colorado. At ECHO Colorado, Marisa developed foundational structures for the organization and also managed a team of adult educators who, though video technology, worked to build the knowledge and skills of health professionals across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region. Marisa also brings experience working with youth involved in the juvenile justice system. She has previously managed a small alternative health practice in Chicago and continues to run her own holistic functional nutrition business.
Marisa has presented on her work with ECHO Colorado at a number of conferences including Public Health in the Rockies and the American Cancer Society’s National Colorectal Roundtable. In the nutrition space, she has presented to Colorado schools, healthcare organizations, and other small businesses on a range of topics related to nutrition, stress management, and wellbeing.
Marisa graduated with honors from the University of Arizona with a degree in communications and French. She went on to study public health with a focus in community health sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she obtained a Master’s in Public Health. Marisa is also a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and has deepened her understanding of the mind-body connection, obtaining her certification as a registered yoga teacher. With her passion for making information about optimal health and wellbeing accessible, Marisa volunteers to teach yoga in a number of community settings, including high schools. She also founded a women’s health community that enables women to attend health events and activities on the front range at no or low cost.
