Spencer Rockwell is a Budget and Policy Analyst with the Governor’s Office of State Planning and Budgeting. Prior to his current job, he spent 10 years in public service in Colorado, with experience teaching, leading local public health initiatives, and writing grants totaling nearly $20 million in awards over a 5 year period. He also has experience as an independent consultant, having worked with schools in both Aurora and Adams 12 school districts to develop and write successful policy proposals to the Colorado Department of Education to obtain autonomy to overhaul their academic models.
In 2017, Spencer was honored to be selected as a Social Enterprise Fellow by the Barton Institute for Philanthropy and Social Enterprise, which gave him the opportunity to study and participate in innovative approaches to social change that blend public and private sector business models. During college, Spencer served as Head Coach of Palisade High School Speech and Debate, where he placed 4 students in the top 60 nationally and cultivated his love for working with children.
